From the moment I met the "H" family, I knew that our session together was going to be fun. Their two girls have such wonderful personalities and both were ready to have a blast during the session. We had so many stunning images of their family, so mom "J" and I carefully selected the final portraits for their new wall portrait gallery display in their home.

I love this "real life" image - the girls' parents are tickling them for a little added silliness :O)! Wish I had time to share all of their images...they're all so beautiful!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration with their family! I've been wanting to share some images of the "B" family session - I took some time and put together a slideshow, I hope you all enjoy it! The B family was a hoot to work with. Their 6 year old daughter "C" looked so precious in her beautiful cardigan, plaid skirt, and cowboy boots. I remember that she seemed a little shy at first, but when I asked her to dance and twirl around her skirt, she did so joyfully :). Their older daughter "M" was just so sweet and easygoing that she made my job a breeze. And look at M's big blue eyes - aren't they just gorgeous!

To the B family - you all are so beautiful both inside and out - it was such a pleasure working with the four of you!

We had our last Holiday session about a week ago, and now we must focus on finalizing and delivering orders for all of our wonderful clients before the Christmas holidays are here (so that everyone has enough time to wrap up those gorgeous portrait gifts and mail their Holiday cards!). We still have many more Holiday sessions to share with you on our blog; however, our client holiday orders will take priority so you may notice it getting a little quieter around here (sorry little blog, Santa will remember your valiant sacrifice come Christmas morning!). This December, we also scheduled some "non-holiday" milestone and newborn sessions that we hope to share with you after all of the holiday order-processing is completed.

I am so lucky - I get to work with the sweetest most genuine families :). The "S" family was bunches of fun, and they were up for anything during their session!

Their son "C" is 18 months old and full of energy. I was glad to see him at this early stage in life, because as we all know, children grow up and change so fast! From my experience of photographing children, there is such a change between 12 to 18 months, and then from 18 to 24 months. It is so neat capturing these special milestones and seeing the changes in these children's facial expressions and growth.

C is actually a very serious little man. We worked very hard to get these super-joyous smiles. The extra effort was so worth it!

...coming up for air! It has been so busy around here with holiday sessions, I just had to take an editing break to post some images of this beautiful family. From the moment I met the "S" family I could feel that they had a very special bond. They were all super fun to work with. Their 2 1/2 year old son was *very* energetic and their 4 1/2 year old daughter was just so sweet :). Here are some images from their session - web resolution doesn't do these images justice!

A Corporate "Pumpkin Patch" Event :: Houston, TX Corporate Event Photographer Cypress, TX

A corporate event...at the Pumpkin Patch! This company contacted me and asked if I could take portraits of their employees at the Pumpkin Patch during their annual employee/family appreciation event. Of course, I was thrilled to take the offer - everyone was so genuine - and the portraits turned out fabulous despite the fact that we had to start the sessions at "high noon" (the WORST time of day for portraits because of the harsh midday sun being directly overhead -- and not to mention that we had ZERO shade to work with!). It was such an honor to be part of this company's experience! I had so much fun documenting this special day for them.

If you or your company are hosting a corporate event this fall/winter (or really any season), then contact us regarding special corporate rates and packages. We would love to document your corporate event (as always, at the location of your choice)! And it's such a nice treat for employees to have family portraits taken during these sorts of events, because I find that many of these families haven't had professional portraits taken in many years.

I am loving this cooler weather we are having (although I'm sure it's temporary!) - it really gets me into the Holiday spirit! Speaking of the Holidays, our Holiday sessions are in full swing - so call today to reserve your session before it's too late! The Holidays are a great time of year to send family and friends updated portraits of your family and especially your children (they grow up so fast!). In fact, for many of us who have out-of-state family and friends, this may be the only time of year that we send out updated portraits of our family - and it is the greatest gift ever!

Capturing the "B" ladies was a blast! "R", mom of 2 girls, was the most comical lady that I have ever met :)! The girls, "K" and "N", didn't lag too far behind their mom, and they too were hilarious! There were various times that I had to actually stop shooting (my camera) because I was laughing so hard! I'm so glad that we all entertained each other so well :O). What breaks my heart is that I just met them and now they are moving to Switzerland. "B" ladies, I hope that you visit often - I look forward to having another family session with you all soon (and drag your Dad along to the session next time)!

I was especially honored to have this session with them because "R" is a professional photographer and graphic designer herself. I was super thrilled when she mentioned that the images within her gallery (that I captured) were a-m-a-z-i-n-g :).

Their session was filled with awesome images - both portraits and photojournalistic shots. As usual, I have such a hard time selecting just a few to post on our blog. There are also some wonderful individual portraits that are breathtaking, but I decided to narrow it down to 3 fun images for our blog. I love the images below because these ladies' vivacious personalities were captured in the images - to be remembered and cherished forever...

...Reflecting upon this beautiful session that I had with them, makes me wish that I had professional portraits taken of my Mom, Sister, and myself, at this stage of our lives...I would do anything to go back in time, to have just one perfect portrait of the 3 of us, during our early years...

20 year wedding anniversary :: Houston Texas Family and Pet Photographer

When I first started talking to "S" about her upcoming family session with her husband and two pups, she mentioned that they had not had family portraits taken since their wedding almost 20 years ago! I think many of us can relate to this – we wait, and wait, and then wait some more for “the right time” to have our family’s or children’s portraits photographed. Some people wait until their kids' "funny" teeth grow out or until the braces come off, some people wait because they don’t think that their little tykes could ever behave during a session, some people wait because they want to lose weight before they have a session, while some people just wait because their lives are too busy. The issue with waiting is this: life goes on and it stops for no one. Life's special moments and memories are gathered all around us if only we stop and MAKE time to NOTICE them. Otherwise, you may find yourself waiting “for the right time” to have family portraits taken for years and years to come, and then discover to your regret that the perfect “right time” that you hoped for never arrived. Many years will pass by, and then you run out of time to capture those special moments in your family’s or children’s lives. Don't be the "waiter." Instead, seize Life by the reins and enjoy the ride.

I had such a wonderful time photographing the “H” family. S’s husband "J" – what a character - he had me cracking up throughout the entire session. Lately, I’ve had clients who just left me in stitches because I was laughing so much!

When S mentioned that it had been 20 years since she had family portraits taken, I immediately thought that this session is going to be really special and definitely something to celebrate! I came up with some super fun ideas for their portraits – a mix of traditional portraits plus some photojournalistic shots too (some of which involved toasting to their anniversary with chilled champagne which they just loved!). We started the session in their backyard where they had lots of fun with their 2 puppies Ed and Lucy – Ed was such a show-off with his orange toy ring! We then ventured out to the park where S and J enjoyed toasting champagne to their upcoming 20th wedding anniversary – I had so much fun documenting this special milestone for such a wonderful couple.

The H family's gallery of images turned out just beautiful. I know that their children and grandchildren will absolutely treasure their portraits forever and ever! :O)

I've been so busy that I haven't been paying any attention to my poor little blog! I had the opportunity to capture this beautiful family a couple of weeks ago as they awaited the arrival of their 3rd baby girl! Waiting...

a "walking" milestone

Clients contact us for a variety of reasons to have a custom photography session. Sometimes, clients like to document the birth of their child or a birthday celebration, while others prefer to commemorate special milestones (such as walking!) with a “milestone” session. Oftentimes, families like to budget for annual spring/summer and fall/winter portraits and splurge on an annual hardcover family “storybook” which I custom design for them. And some clients, well, they just want to have a fun custom photography session capturing their children’s personalities at the stage of life they are currently in.

In this session, little man “A” was celebrating a very special “walking” milestone. I was honored when his Mommy contacted me to capture this exciting time in her child’s life. She mentioned that she chose me because she loved the fact that you can see the children’s personalities “shine” through my images. I certainly had a blast during “A’s” session and loved that his Mommy was prepared with fun music playing in the background! :O)

Capturing Life

I love documenting the lives of children and their parents. Being a custom lifestyle photographer allows me to be creative in ways to capture the "real" spirit of each person. The children's or families' personalities and uniqueness really shine through in the images. I could have many sessions at one location -- with each session being vastly different and unique in its own special way -- because no two sessions are ever exactly alike. It is one of the greatest rewards (and values!) of custom lifestyle photography.

I enjoyed spending time with the "G" family. Their son "J" is 8 months old and TONS of joy. It's obvious why - his parents just love, love, love him!
